So, yeah, we thought we should let you know all the amazing stuff that’s on our To Do List for this weekend – tick off a few of these, and you’ll be a very happy monkey!

Highlights include Sandpit at Holland Park (Sunday, 2-5:30pm, new games designed by artists, musician, writers etc) and Portobello Road Arts Day (Saturday, 1-4pm, street theatre creatures, puppet shows, music and dance, interactive art, and a chance to celebrate the Emmeline Pankhurst Day with a good old-fashioned Suffragette rally).

Hoxton Street Party to Launch Shoreditch Festival | Saturday 10-6pm | FREE

Market, performance, circus & music on Hoxton Street. Live music from the likes of Black Vendetta and The Rapscallions, and also nearby you’ll find an exhibition of Forgotten Games, a beer festival at the Howl at the Moon, and much more!

The Nazi Games: Politics, the Media and the Body @ The Wiener Library | All Weekend | FREE

Free Exhibition of Nazi propaganda posters providing a fascinating insight into the period. Also don’t miss a Lunchtime Talk tomorrow (Friday 13th July):  ‘Desired Bodies’: Leni Riefenstahl, the Berlin Olympics 1936 and Aryan Masculinity. Email the library here to book a FREE ticket.

Eat cheese, muse about la philosophie & hum la Marseillaise. Roast are serving a special Beef Wellington (which we think is a cheeky two fingers up to the French), the Wine Pantry hosts an England v France blind tasting challenge, and there’s outdoor mini boules at The Refinery. Tip: catch the waiter’s race from 1100-1130.

More London Free Festival @ The Scoop, near Tower Bridge | All Weekend | FREE

Suzanna Rosenthal for Steam Industry Free Theatre presents a three-part Oresteia – adapted from Aeschylus. Three plays:

18:30 The Trojan Horse – “a lively retelling of how a bunch of plucky lads from Greece outsmart the might of the Trojan army with an unusual present… But will the right boy get the girl?”

20:00 Agamemnon – “the gruesome and dramatic story of a hero’s homecoming steeped in murder and revenge gradually unfolds. A great king is reunited with his queen but bitter memories bubble to the surface and recriminations are bloody and unexpected.”

21:30 Orestes – “terrifying forces seek to plunge the great house deeper into destruction; but help is at hand as a new spirit of hope and justice brings our epic story to a thundering and uplifting climax.”

Traction Festival @Granary Square, Kings Cross | Saturday | £20

Regent’s Canal Festival | Between Little Venice and Mile End Park | All Weekend | FREE

Lots of wtaery fun along the Regent’s Canal: gondola trips and market stalls in Little Venice;  15 DJ’s and a floating stage in Camden, courtesy of SoUp; a chance to take a boat trip through the Islington Tunnel (£7); fresh as it comes Street Art on the towpath near Broadway Market; an Open Air Cinema (9pm Saturday); and some pretty Light Installations after dusk on Sunday in Mile End Park.
