PICK OF THE WEEK
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Fringe! Festivals | Various Venues | Tue 24-Sun 29 Nov | From Free
This year the Fringe! programme is unbeatable and epic for a great selection of truly unique perspectives which are bound to warm up winter.
Here’s our highlights:
- Eisenstein in Guanajuato (Tues 24): “Over-the-top journey of Russian auteur filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein’s trip to Mexico in 1931”.
- Favela Gay (Thu 26): “LGBT people at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder reinvent their lives through music, dance, politics and study and how Rio’s famous Carnival brings them together.”
- The Cult of JT Leroy (Sat 28): “The truth behind underground literary sensation JT Leroy is gradually exposed in this mind-boggling documentary.”
- Dyke Hard (Sun 29): “It wouldn’t be Fringe! without a Swedish feminist DIY road movie musical, and this year is no exception! A remarkable (if totally nuts) first feature from Bitte Andersson packs in all the ninjas, cyborgs, dykes on bikes, ghouls, evil villians and lesbian stereotypes B-movie references you could ever want in this epic journey for our heroes to make it to Battle of the Bands. “
But don’t think it ends here, there’s literally too many incredible events to feature here. See the full programme here.
