To Do List Loves… The Harmonettes
One for our northern fans… we know you’re out there!
To Do List was in Chester a little while back, seeing how the northern-half live: amazing fry-ups, weird/wonderful carnivals, boisterous burlesque… we LOVE it.
We kiiiiiinda forgot to send a postcard though, so instead (and belatedly) we’re bringing word of a fab vintage harmony group, The Harmonettes.
They say: “We formed in July 09′ when we were asked to perform at our local summer street party. As we all had a passion for The Andrew Sisters we jumped at the chance. Needless to say it rained, and our audience were all huddled under a marquee, but this didn’t dampen their spirits or ours, and we had an absolute ball of a time. So much so that we decided to keep it up, refine our sound and here we are now, loving every minute of it and living that very sparkly dream.”
We say: We love vintage. We love harmony. We love (contrary to rumours) girls. So, we HEART The Harmonettes.
You can check out their music in the nifty jukebox section of their website (http://www.theharmonettes.co.uk/), and on their Facebook page. Here’s hoping London gets to see and hear more of The Harmonettes soon… we might just have to start a petition.

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like: nice pubs, film marathons, not doing real marathons, bad comedy, plays/musicals with shorter second halves, and the Oxford comma.
