We check out the cultural day trip potential on offer at the East Sussex home of the Bloomsbury group, Charleston Farmhouse in Firle, and its impressive new gallery in nearby Lewes.
Blue Shop Gallery is a fab space in South London, which promotes the work of emerging artists. To mark the opening of new exhibition Lying Near Water – showing works by painter Alice Neave – we caught up with Gallery Director Ocki Magill to talk about championing new artists, celebrations of the natural world, inspirations, and things to do in London…
Small doesn’t mean insignificant at Worthing’s debut festival, where a diverse programme offers visitors a lot to take in without raiding their wallets.
The world of art is shifting from inaccessible high brow to dazzling spectacle (and lasers!) with Thin Air – and also with Blindmouth, a night of spoken word poetry which feels more like a Stormzy gig.
Our ultimate favourite free festival – which never fails to provide spectacular thrills and spills, and eye-popping experiences – is, conveniently, right on our doorstep. So we can’t wait to get stuck in to the 2022 Greenwich + Docklands International Festival programme this summer.
Princess Promenade is a deliciously sordid trip back through time to the glory years of the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and its queer inhabitants. Another Duckie triumph!
