Sprint Festival | Camden People’s Theatre | Various Times | Various Prices
The annual festival of new and unusual theatre returns, with a mix of brand new performances from artists new and old.
They Say: This year, we’re delighted to be welcoming superstars of the indie theatre scene Kindle, with two new shows; the premiere of UNPACK by Shunt and Rotozaza veteran Glen Neath in collaboration with Neil Bennun; Daniel Bye, with the London premiere of his Edinburgh Fringe smash How to Occupy an Oil Rig; two short shows from Tim Crouch sidekick Andy Smith; and many more. There are also CPT debuts from first-timers including PinchVanish, MingBeast, The Same But Different and others.
We’ve also got performances of this year’s Spring Festivals Co-Commission, My Son and Heir, “an anarchic celebration of the everyday heroism of parenthood” from Bristol-based Search Party. We have an action-packed one-off night dedicated to intimate performance. And we end the festival with a day of hot-off-the-press showings by participants on our Starting Blocks 2014 artist development scheme.
