Review: FABBA ★★★★
Lilly SnatchDragon, Kiki Mellek, Neil Kelso and Pi the Mime have a disco ball of a time as FABBA – a dragulous tribute to ABBA!
FABBA | The Two Brewers | 20 November 2022
Just when you thought there was nothing new to come from the crowded field of ABBA Tributes, along come FABBA – who might one day hope for their own FABBATAR show on the edge of an Olympic park.
Lilly SnatchDragon, Kiki Mellek, Neil Kelso and Pi the Mime are the Swedish quartet – perhaps as you’ve never seen or heard them before. This is a chaotic (in a good way) cabaret of lip-sync, comedy, fierce drag and supreme silliness.

Neil Kelso nails a comedy accent which might alarm the Swedish embassy, and even shows off some puppetry skills for the arrival of a very special guest (think Mama Mia! Here We Go Again). Meanwhile Lilly SnatchDragon and Kiki Mellek are scrapping over the role of lead singer, while Pi the Mime is wringing laughs out of pratfalls and an impromptu Freddie Mercury tribute.
Lilly gives boundless energy, and a fierce burlesque performance – but perhaps it’s Kiki’s up-front assets, and a knock-out rendition of The Winner Takes It All, that steal the show!
There are some fabulous lip-sync renditions of ABBA classics – though no surprising deep-cuts. But hey, this isn’t a show for total ABBA nerds, it’s a fun night out to distract us all from the mad mad world we live in!

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like: nice pubs, film marathons, not doing real marathons, bad comedy, plays/musicals with shorter second halves, and the Oxford comma.
