One of our favourite offbeat events of the year, Culture 24’s Museums at Night takes over museums across the country, and opens them up to a night-owl audience – here’s our top 5 in London:

“Art in the Dark”:Outsider Art and Mental Health History by Torchlight @ Bethlem Royal Hospital Archives & Museum | Friday 18th May (Tonight from 5-7 pm)

A short talk on the history of ‘Bedlam’ (one of the world’s oldest psychiatric institutions) makes for a fascinating evening.

Art by Candlelight @ The London Canal Museum | Saturday 19th May

Bar serving wine and beer + gorgeous art lit by candlelight in one of London’s secret museums.

Claire Barclay re-presents the Old Operating Theatre Museum | Saturday 19th May
