Zealous X | Bargehouse | FREE
Zealous X is a free, four-day exhibition taking place at one of our favourite London venues, Bargehouse. Zealous X celebrates the talent of 100 artists from across the UK, providing space to exhibit and sell some amazing, creative products whilst providing a forum for networking with industry insiders and fellow artists.

Part 4: “All Families Are Psychotic”, featuring Miranda Sawyer, India Knight, Andrew Samuels and Melanie Rickey.
The fourth in a series of talks from London-based cultural consultancy Bug, in partnership with The House of St Barnabas, 37 Things You Need to Know About Modern Britain is “a series of talks that offer fresh and insightful viewpoints on popular culture”.
The Yard’s 2013 winter show combines seasonal traditions, spectacle and dark humour in its portrayal of “a society in limbo, waiting for something new to believe in.” A limited run of performances, promising carols, crackers, singing and shouting… and maybe even a scream or two.

This month Lates is all about Robotics. Grab a bottle of wine, and discover how nature has inspired robot design in Robot Safari, meet a bat-bot, a shoal of robot fish and a robotic salamander, and chat with researchers behind the robots. If that’s not enough, there’s all the regular Lates fare: speed dating, a pub quiz, silent disco and more!

A one-off immersive film experience inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom (a To Do List favourite). Pop on your dancing shoes for a night at London’s most fabulous 50s ballroom.
A documentary feature film about artists’ DIY approach to moving image technology. The film explores playful and political uses of the camera, from the early portable video recorders to contemporary camera phones, and is accompanied live on stage by video-interactive performance by Dickie Beau.
An artist-led illustration, print and design fair, offering the opportunity for illustration fans to meet their favourite artists and discover exciting new work from young, upcoming artists.

Goldsmiths hosts a day of skill-sharing sessions on how to have private conversations over instant messaging, how to encrypt emails, how to browse anonymously and how to reliably encrypt your hard disk amongst other things.
They Say: “It’s peer-against-fear; the self-organised activity of people teaching each other essential privacy skills. Come and join us for workshops, stalls, lightening talks, longer addresses by international experts and more. Even better, add something of your own. If you or a group you’re part of have something to share then please join in.”
Part of the Canning Town Light Night festival, and featuring a spectacular theatrical light and musical performance by Bishi. There’ll be lanterns and exhibitions, plus live music, dancing, games, food, and hot and boozy drinks a-plenty at the neighbouring Caravanserai market.
A celebration of some of the most exciting European biomimetic robots. You’ll get to explore the ways that nature can inspire innovative designs, and trek through unnatural habitats as you see incredible robots swim, flap and crawl. Robot Safari is free, but timed entry applies and spaces are limited – check the website for detail on how to reserve a time-slot.
