In the week that Topshop have launched an outrageously pointless virtual reality water slide, we were delighted to hear about this genuinely heartwarming new online experience to celebrate the life of real life East Ender Joseph Markovic. Plus you can use your eyes to control the experience.
[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Start the experience now” color=”primary” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.86andahalfyears.com%2F||target:%20_blank|rel:nofollow”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]www.86andahalfyears.com is a project by a group of East London creative businesses, and celebrates the life of Joseph Markovic, a man who left London just once in his life, to go to seaside with his mum.
Entirely self funded, the project is an immersive digital experience that is controlled by opening and shutting the eyes.
A fully interactive story is told by a narrator and Joseph’s friend, Martin Usborne, set to a new soundtrack created on East London standup pianos.
Clubhouse Studios and the other businesses made the project as a celebration of Joe, their home and as a gift to their neighbours.
Joseph’s life is also celebrated in the Hoxton Mini Press book ‘I’ve Lived in East London for 86 ½ Years’ by Martin Usborne.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”79836″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]All photos by Martin Usborne[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
