Frau Welt | Hackney Showroom | 4-21 October | From £10
We headed to the deepest yet sparkliest Hackney to catch up with the legendary Frau Welt – be sure not to miss her full length debut at Hackney Showroom this October!
Tell us about your show and why people should come and see you at Hackney Showroom?
It is the sensational solo show of a lifetime. Sixty five years in the making. One woman shows at the Palladium and the Savoy are severely overrated and I’ve taken the advice of my UK representatives who tell me Hackney Showroom is the new theatrical mecca. People have always wanted to know the truth – my life has always been shrouded in speculation and mystery – and the time has come to reveal all!

There Is Nothing Like a Dame
Who inspires you to tell your story?
My longstanding confidante Dame Angela Lansbury is a never-ending source of inspiration.
Dead or alive, who would you invite to a Frau Welt dinner soiree and why?
I regularly hold intimate soirees at my London home, the Fellaçio Suite at the Dorchester, and my most memorable evenings – laughter til dawn – have been in the company of my esteemed college Maureen Lipman and my squash partner Esther Ranzen. I would add to that list the inspirational Rupert Murdoch and my extremely wealthy ex husband Sir Trevor Nunn.
Where are your favourite London haunts?
I love the Marco Polo at the Ritz. But I go just wild for a Karahi Kosht in Tayyabs in Whitechapel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like free, cheap & offbeat London, especially: cabaret, art, theatre, pop-ups, eating out, quirky films, museums, day trips, social enterprise & much more.
