Hanging Out – 1970s Fame Photography at the Library Space – Free Entry
Hanging Out – Photographs by Carinthia West | 21 September- 5 October 2012 | The Library Space | Free Admission
Gorgeous photographic work from Carinthia West have given us a great excuse to visit the Library Space in Battersea.
This September The Library Space hosts ‘Hanging Out’ , the first London based solo exhibition by Carinthia West.
West’s informal and candid photographs present us with a fascinating cross-section of friendship, loyalty, celebrity and fame in the 1970s.Her photographs feature subjects including Angelica Huston, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Helen Mirren, Neil Young, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Paul Simon, George Harrison, Eric Idle, Julie Christie, Robin Williams and Keith Moon.
In addition to photography West has worked as contributing editor for Marie Claire, Tatler, Harper’s Bazaar and Harper’s & Queen. She has written for The Telegraph, The Independent and the Mail on Sunday, but her first love remains the camera and taking photographs.
‘Hanging Out’ is sponsored by Liz Earle Beauty Co. & Billionaire.com.
All works are for sale. Part of proceeds from every piece will be donated to the photography charity PhotoVoice. http://photovoice.org

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like free, cheap & offbeat London, especially: cabaret, art, theatre, pop-ups, eating out, quirky films, museums, day trips, social enterprise & much more.
