Southbank Centre launches Gift of Giving Christmas Charity Shop in partnership with Mind
Celebrate the Gift of Giving and shop differently this Christmas at the Southbank Centre – supporting the amazing work of mental health charity Mind
From today until January 6th, the Southbank Centre has a brand new pop up charity shop on the Thames. The Gift of Giving charity shop – in partnership with mental healthy charity Mind – is part of Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival, and will sell a range of donated items, from second-hand books and vinyl records to pre-loved clothes and accessories.
Running alongside the shop will be a programme of artistic events including up-cycling workshops, storytelling and music from Charity Shop DJ.
The shop will be run by a team of volunteers who have been given training in all aspects of running a charity shop – from sorting donations and pricing items to visual merchandising and customer services.
All the proceeds from the Gift of Giving shop will help Mind support more people experiencing mental health problems.
Find the Gift of Giving on the Spirit Level at the Royal Festival Hall, 12pm – 8pm until January 6th.
