Get Reading, Free Lit Festival today in Trafalgar Square
Get Reading | Trafalgar Square | Saturday 13th July | 11am – 5pm
The London Evening Standard and Nook have thrown together a great day of literary fun in Trafalgar Square, in support of the Standard’s Get Reading campaign. The Get Reading Festival is a free event which will see children take part in a read-a-thon with their most loved authors and celebrity storytellers, as well as some performances from shows such as Billy Elliot the Musical, Wicked, War Horse & Matilda!
Expect celebrities including: Rupert Everett (reading from Oscar Wilde) as well as fellow actors Warwick Davies, Sam West, Niamh Cusack, David Harewood and Barbara Windsor; children’s TV character Peppa Pig; children’s authors Babette Cole, Anne Fine and Jonathan Stroud; novelists Anthony Horowitz, Marianne Levy, Steve Cole and Sally Gardner; and Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman.
The Festival is designed to encourage and support childhood literacy, is open to the whole family and to anyone from London and across the UK.

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like free, cheap & offbeat London, especially: cabaret, art, theatre, pop-ups, eating out, quirky films, museums, day trips, social enterprise & much more.
