Eurovision Events in London – the Weird Ones.
EUROVISION PARTIES INCLUDING: ALTERNATIVE EUROVISION TONIGHT, SINK THE PINK AND HACKNEY ATTIC. BOOM BANG A BANG IT’S A EURO TAKE OVER IN LONDON THIS WEEKEND…ENJOY OR ENDURE…JUST BE THERE…
Alternative Eurovision at the Priceless London Wonderground | Tonight at 9.45pm | Book now online here
Ten of the campest, most outrageous and wonderfully twisted acts from London’s burgeoning alternative cabaret scene will take it in turn to present you with their take on a classic Eurovision song. Whether it’s a burlesque ‘Making Your Mind Up’ or a suicidal torch song version of ‘Boom Bang-a-Bang’ you can be certain that there’ll be something for anyone who loves the kitschiest show on the planet. Featuring for 2012 our faves: Eastend Cabaret, Fabulous Russella and Frisky & Mannish.
Eurovision Mega Party at Hackney Attic | Saturday 26th May | 8pm | £10/£9/£8 | Book online here
It’s big, it’s mad, it’s cringe-worthy, it’s hot, it’s (rigged?), it’s political, it’s silly, it’s multi-coloured, it’s extravagant, it’s filthy, it’s embarrassing…. It’s Eurovision, and we love it. There will be FANCY DRESS prizes, FREE GOODY BAGS, themed COCKTAILS, EURO-DANCE-OFFS (bring your Velcro skirts), hilarious activities, brilliant people, post-screening dance-floor fun… and of course a whole heap of big screen to project for the SHOW itself. Don’t fight it… come with cheers and boos (not booze, we’ll sort that) and get stuck in!
Sink the Pink: THE EUROVISION PARTY at the Bethnal Green Working Mens Club | £5 Adv/£7 on the door | Book online here
The tension will be unreal as you view the show on the big screen upstairs. A special Eukele laden performance from JACQUI POTATO representing Poland. The fabulous HOLESTAR will be opening up her HOT SPOT at their NEW downstairs Euro Disco, blasting out pure Euro classics all night long. Imagine a Polish underground gay disco and you won’t be far off the mark. Mama Holey will guarantee to keep you dancing until the wee hours even if you get nil points. JAMES PHILLIPS, our favourite disc jockey representing Serbia, he’ll spin all your favourite Sink The Pink tunes until you can dance no more.
