To Do List Daily – 1972: The Future of Sex – Sat 16 April
1972: The Future of Sex | Shoreditch Town Hall | Until 23 April | 7:30pm | £12.50
The Wardrobe Ensemble theatre company bring 1972: The Future of Sex to Shoreditch Town Hall – the story of 3 couples having sex for the first time in 1972!
It’s 1972. An era of possibility and polyester and pubic hair. Ziggy Stardust is on Top of the Pops, Penny is writing an essay on Lady Chatterley’s Lover and Christine is watching Deepthroat. Brian is confused. Our parents are 20 and they’re having sex.
Inspired by contemporary attitudes towards sex in 2015 – unlimited internet porn on demand, the current state of feminism, varying levels of sex education and the legalisation of same-sex marriage – Wardrobe Ensemble decided to take fresh look at sex and sexuality through the lens of the seventies: “a post sexual revolution era, a time of the pill, of second wave feminism, David Bowie, a time of sexual possibility”.
A smash hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015, don’t miss this chance to catch The Future of Sex as it tours the UK.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Buy Tickets” color=”turquoise” size=”lg” align=”center” link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fshoreditchtownhall.com%2Ftheatre-performance%2Fwhats-on%2Fevent%2F1972-the-future-of-sex||target:%20_blank”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like: nice pubs, film marathons, not doing real marathons, bad comedy, plays/musicals with shorter second halves, and the Oxford comma.
