Eduardo Salzane brings the magic of the big top to the Fringe – in a tiny suitcase.

The Fringe is full of big, empty spectacle and gimmicks. However, this small miracle of a show from São Paulo, Brazil, is testament to the fact that small is beautiful and big ideas come in small packages.
Artistry, surprises and asking a fringe-fatigued audience to suspend disbelief for a moment really does make this show stand out. It echoes the best tongue-in-cheek silly elements of The House of Automata’s Flea Circus, which has toured festivals worldwide.
Circo Valise reminds us that, elsewhere, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is most certainly not free, and the big four venues need to bring more shows like this (presented by Assembly) alongside their paid-for offerings: free, outdoors and accessible to all, much like many other international and fringe festivals worldwide. MORE FREE OUTDOOR SHOWS PLEASE!
The magic of the circus comes to life with exquisitely detailed puppetry, set design and soundscapes. There is some very gentle audience interaction, perfect for audiences young and old – and basically, anyone with a healthy imagination.
Stop for 10 minutes and dive into an Amelie-style world of tiny wonder.
