Can Online Dating Work? Find out with Chew the Fat
Chew The Fat #4 – Romance Hacking: The Future of Love in the 21st Century | 7pm – 10:30pm | Monday 17th February | Shoreditch Village Hall
Come and Chew the Fat around online dating with top speakers from Dattch, Badoo & The Future of Love at Shoreditch town hall this week.
The Speakers:
Robyn Exton, Dattch | Dave Killeen, Badoo | Samir El-Alami, Lovestruck – See Below for
Chew the Fat is a monthly series of conversations with high profile entrepreneurs, founders, VC’s and generally epic people, designed to stimulate, motivate and inspire! Tickets are pricey but the speakers are immense and there is complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks for the night.
This month’s event considers online love and the rise of the online dating industry. Dating applications seem to be as ubiquitous as email in the modern day startup economy. Barely a tube journey goes by without an advert for yet another niche, sub vertical startup appearing. Even a night on the sofa isn’t replete without a real-life user proudly advertising their continued but as yet unsuccessful hunt, or better a year an actual couple who found love through the pixel and wires of online dating.

The Speakers

Robyn Exton, Dattch
Robyn is the founder of Dattch, the first dating app designed for women that lets lesbian, bisexual and curious women connect. Prior to Dattch she spent 5 years working at branding agency Calling Brands.
Dattch has been designed exclusively for women and optimised around female behaviour, with verified accounts from day 1, Pinterest style profiles and an absolute focus on making it as easy as possible for women to get talking. In her spare time Robyn co-organises the London division of Geek Girl Meetup.
Dave Killeen, Badoo

Samir El-Alami, Lovestruck
Samir El-Alami is a performance marketing aficionado – with extensive experience marketing for start-ups small and large alike. Director of online marketing for Lovestruck, previously from badoo, Samir likes quality disruptive products with high growth potential. He also likes skittles… a share-bag a day keeps the dentist in pay.

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like free, cheap & offbeat London, especially: cabaret, art, theatre, pop-ups, eating out, quirky films, museums, day trips, social enterprise & much more.
