Faye Marriott from the Capital Carboot Sale talks HORROR SALE & her London
We’re so excited about the London Dungeon selling all their props at Capital Carboot in Pimlico tomorrow (Sunday 3rd February) from 11.30am.
We spoke to the fabulous Faye who runs the cult car bootsale and here’s her top London tips:
Tell us about your favourite secret/offbeat places in London (food, going out, entertainment, relaxation)?
Favourite place would have to be Wilton’s Music Hall for the events they put on and because the building is so beautiful and romantic. Also The Last Refuge in Peckham is a real find for theatre and arts lovers, who like a drink!
What offbeat events are on your To Do List in the next month or so?
The London Dungeon at our carboot is going to be pretty special! After 38 years at Tooley Street, under London Bridge station London Dungeon is closing and setting up a stall at our bootsale on Sunday 3rd February to flog an eclectic selection of scary, funny and downright eccentric items. The stall will be include a set of authentic stocks, fake eyeballs & costumes from the world-famous attraction before its move to its new home at Country Hall.
What are your favourite things to do for free or little money in London?
Getting a Boris Bike and exploring, and going around Battersea Dogs Home (you need to make a small donation to enter). Its a guilty pleasure, I always cry and always want to take them all home- but dont have a big enough house- so its somewhere to get abit of a dog fix!
What’s your ultimate London confession?
Sometimes I like it when you can’t get reception on the tube and no one can reach you 🙂
What event or product of your own would you like to pimp on To Do List?
Capital Carboot Sale – we run every Sunday, all year rain or shine!

I am Joint Editor at To Do List. I like free, cheap & offbeat London, especially: cabaret, art, theatre, pop-ups, eating out, quirky films, museums, day trips, social enterprise & much more.
