Help create the Ark – Free outdoor fun at National Theatre
The National Theatre and Wildworks present Ark-ive | Wednesday 22 – Monday 27 August, 12pm – 7.30pm | Joined by the National Youth Theatre for The Flood on Friday 24 & Saturday 25 August, 1.00pm – 1.30pm & 4.00pm – 4.30pm Theatre Square, National Theatre, South Bank, London SE1 | FREE
From 22 – 27 August Ark-ive, a huge interactive installation created by the National Theatre and WildWorks will arrive in front of the NT as part of the annual Watch This Space Festival. This strange sea-faring vessel will be made from recycled scenery, riverside-finds and salvaged materials.
Once assembled, Ark-ive will invite people to enter two by two, bringing objects, drawings, photographs and stories of animals from their lives and will become, over the course of a week, a massive depository for man’s complex relationship with the animal world.
On Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August, from 1.00pm – 1.30pm and 4.00pm – 4.30pm, over 250 members of the National Youth Theatre will be joining Ark-ive to bring The Flood crashing into Theatre Square.
A day-by-day programme for the Watch This Space Festival is available online at
